- General Member
Available to individuals who are or have been financial examiners working with government agencies.
Members can advance to designated membership levels, including Accredited Financial Examiner (AFE®), Certified Financial Examiner (CFE®), and Automated Examiner Specialist (AES®).

This category was established for professional regulators, attorneys, actuaries, market conduct examiners, financial institution professionals, and other positions which assist in the regulatory process, but have never been financial examiners.
Regulatory Membership gives regulators who support the Society’s objectives, and whose membership is approved by the Executive Committee, the opportunity to become active participants in the Society of Financial Examiners.
Regulatory Members are entitled to the benefits of General Membership, except those related to voting.

Designed for business executives and community leaders who have not served as financial examiners but support professional regulation and the Society's programs and objectives. This membership allows leading professionals in insurance, banking, credit unions, legal, actuarial, and accounting services to affiliate with and actively participate in the Society of Financial Examiners.
Once approved by the Executive Committee, Associate Members enjoy the benefits of General Membership, with the exception of voting rights.

Designed for firms within the insurance community that support the Society's programs and objectives. This membership offers leading professional insurance firms the opportunity to affiliate with and actively participate in the Society of Financial Examiners.
Institution members (up to 10 applicants) whose membership is approved by the Executive Committee are entitled to the benefits of General Membership, with the exception of voting rights.

Full-time college students whose membership is approved by the Executive Committee. This membership is offered at no cost and is valid for a maximum of four years while students are enrolled. College students majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Pre-Law, or other related fields are encouraged to explore the professional opportunities available through SOFE’s accreditation and certification programs.
Student Members enjoy the benefits of General Membership (listed above), with the exception of voting rights.
